Heather Hill is an associate editor at Physics Today, where she covers the latest research in physics and related fields. She double majored in physics and English at Duke University and got her Ph.D. in physics at Columbia University in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, she was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Associate at NIST. Her experimental work centered on the interaction between light and 2D materials, such as graphene. She now uses science journalism to improve communication among physicists from different fields and perspectives.
