Marie McLain received her BS in Engineering Physics in 2013 and her PhD in Applied Physics in 2018 from the Colorado School of Mines. Her research background includes a variety of experimental pursuits, while her PhD focused on theoretical many-body quantum tunneling in ultracold neutral atoms. She worked as a laboratory physicist for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems for a couple years before transitioning to engineering and system architectures where she currently works on translating superconducting electronics from technology into usable products. Marie also spends part of her time as a program manager for identifying and developing new programs related to quantum technology, including collaborations with universities.
