Description

We will discuss the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, including science goals and the challenges of constructing a detector in Antarctica.  Although we cannot do a tour of IceCube itself, students are welcome try on the extreme cold weather gear (ECW) that we use at the South Pole.  We will use an LED model of IceCube to illustrate detecting neutrinos and using them for astronomy.
